A container haulier, not a network depot
Incorporated in 2018 and still run by the family that started it.
Fryers Transport Ltd was incorporated in 2018 as a family-run container haulage company, and that is still how it operates. Our depot is on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich, roughly twenty minutes from the Port of Felixstowe.
We are a container specialist rather than a general haulier. That is a narrower offer than some of our competitors, but it means the equipment for awkward container work is already on the fleet rather than hired in when a job demands it.
How we work
Our office is open Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, but the operations team is contactable around the clock and the fleet runs to booked schedules outside those hours. In port haulage the phone being answered is not a nicety — a reefer alarming at 2am is only a problem if nobody picks up.
Most of our work is repeat business from freight forwarders and importers. We would rather tell a customer honestly that we cannot collect until Thursday than take the booking and let the container sit accruing storage.
The fleet
A modern fleet of tractor units running a broad range of trailers: standard and sliding skeletals, ultra-lightweight chassis, sideloader, underslung genset trailers, extended twistlock trailers and a Broshuis extendable low loader with a 10-tonne winch.
The fleet meets the London Direct Vision Standard, a substantial proportion is ADR-equipped for dangerous goods, and HVO fuel is available for customers with emissions reduction targets.
