Sideloader Trailer Hire and Haulage

Megalift self-loading trailer that places containers on the ground without site lifting equipment.

The Megalift sideloader trailer lifting a 20ft container clear of its deck on blue hydraulic crane arms, coupled to a Fryers Scania.

Our Megalift sideloader lifts a container off the trailer and places it on the ground under its own power. No crane, no forklift, no waiting for a lifting contractor to arrive.

This is the answer whenever a container has to be delivered to a site with no lifting equipment, or left on the ground for loading and collected later.

When a sideloader is the right call

Farms, construction sites, self-storage yards, rural depots and any location where hiring in a crane would cost more than the haulage itself. It is also the practical option for drop-and-swap arrangements, where a container is left for loading over several days.

Because the trailer does its own lifting, the delivery window is far more predictable — there is no third-party lifting contractor to coordinate with.

What we need to know before booking

Access is the main constraint. The sideloader needs firm, level ground and clear space alongside the vehicle to set its stabiliser legs and swing the load. Overhead obstructions such as cables, branches and canopies matter more than they do for a standard delivery.

Tell us the container size, the approximate laden weight and the ground conditions when you enquire, and we will confirm feasibility before the vehicle is committed.

Common questions

Do I need a forklift or crane on site?
No. That is the point of a sideloader — it lifts and places the container itself, so no site lifting equipment is required.
What ground conditions do you need?
Firm and reasonably level, with clear space alongside the vehicle for the stabiliser legs. Soft ground, steep camber or overhead cables can prevent a safe lift, so let us know the conditions when you book.
Can you leave the container on site and collect it later?
Yes. Drop-and-collect is one of the most common uses for the sideloader — we place the container, you load it in your own time, and we return to collect.

Need a container moved?

Tell us the container size, the collection port and the delivery postcode. We quote the same working day wherever possible.
